Coming to Istanbul….. October 18, 2006

The results of the education period has been announced and I can proudly say that I finished the course in first place. This gives me the chance to pick the place I would like to go to instead of picking it out of a hat. For that reason, I have picked Istanbul Beyoğlu Askerlik Şubesi as the place I would like to work at for the next 9 months. I will most probably be Askeralma Kisim Amiri at that location and as far as I can tell will be buried knee-deep in work. However, the thought that I can go home to my family (however late that might be) sounds wonderful to me and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
The training here was a mix of classroom courses, sports and basic army training. I have done especially well at Askeralma and Seferberlik, with all the other courses and sports activities being well above average. This course has given me a very broad, yet so far shallow and theoretical, knowledge of Askeralma issues and I am sure I could be helpful to all that would like to consult me on such matters.
I will write another post detailing my place of work as soon as I start there. For the time being, I am waiting eagerly for the rest of the course to finish so that I can join my family again.
